Eucharistic Ministers:  If you would happen to catch a cold, we ask you to please switch with someone until you are better.  We are very concerned about Fr. Joe catching a cold.  He shares his chalice with you, and even if you are the last one to drink out of the chalice, Fr. Joe is now required by church law to purify the chalice and cups.  This means that he will still be drinking out of the chalice after you have.  Fr. Joe seems to catch a cold so easily, we want to try to prevent this.  Also, if you are giving out communion and have washed your hands, it is still very possible you will pass the germs to those receiving communion by touching the host or breathing in the cup.  We are not germ freaks, but want to keep everyone healthy.  By switching with someone, you can still give out communion, but you will be healthy doing it.  Thank you for helping us keep everyone healthy.  (As you have seen in the past, even Fr. Joe does not give out communion when he is sick with a cold.)

Eucharistic Ministers that visit the shut-ins  -  Please tell Fr. Joe of any change in health of the person you are visiting or if some reason you can’t go to them.  We have had people in the hospital and Fr. Joe has not been notified and they have not received the sacraments and died without receiving communion in a long time.
